Cindy's friends from PA Cyber School are in Austin in a conference. She was invited to the Bob Bullock Texas History State Museum to hang out with the team. Yesterday she met them in downtown Austin, and went for drinks with them.
After 4 months of no bladder pain, she has pain tonight. The usual suspects: She had sausage which she said seem to have had hot pepper. Yesterday she also had frito lay pie which was covered with jalapenos (she said that she removed them).
Last time she had pain was July 26th. We spent the previous night dancing, and then in the morning we went for brunch. I think during brunch she ate something spicy.
As we know hot pepper and jalapenos trigger the allergic reaction. She will go on a Spartan diet for a few days and hopefully get back to normal.
Before today, she has been eating just about anything...including Italian dressing in her salads. Now we need to keep an eye again on her diet.

Cindy Signs up to Gold's Gym
Cindy has been doing very well with the IC. August 3oth, she moved to Texas and quit her job. Since then she has been doing great. A couple of times some pain when she goes on a crusade lifting boxes, cleaning, etc. However, it goes back to no pain quickly.
Yesterday she had her first Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates class. This will be great for her stress.
Today she had her first Pilates class.
Our goal of getting her to unstress, drinking her immune booster juice, and exercising has helped her a lot. She is enjoying life so much.
She is now able to drink carbonated drinks, some sauces with tomatoes, and a variety of other foods. She certainly needs to stay away from hot peppers.
She is off Singulair, and Lexapro - ALL MEDICINES. She still has pain in her neck, but we are trying to address through relaxation and exercise. It is bad habit she has of tensing up her neck.

Cindy is feeling good
Cindy went on a Spartan diet for the last 2 weeks after her horrible experience with the chile soup, and is feeling good again.
She says that she still feels a presence, so she is not 100%. She is getting there.
My theory:
She has this allergic reaction to certain spices that thins out the mucous membrane of the bladder. She then needs to eat bland food for the mucous membrane to rebuild. Why she got this? I think it was an allergic reaction to an antibiotic while she had a UTI.
Good thing is that we know how to control, and are trying to figure it out.

Cindy in Most Pain Ever - Panera Corn Chowder.
Cindy had been on remission for months. We went on a trip to Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt and she ate everything. This Monday, however, she ate something that she had never eaten. She had the corn chowder soup from Panera, and messed her up big time.
The soup had jalapenos, and poblano hot peppers. It also had tomato juice, chunks of tomato, and onions, rice wine, citric juice, etc. To make matters worst, she drank a bit of frozen lemonade.
One little soup sent her off remission, and now she is absolute horrible pain. She has an appointment with the doctor tomorrow.

Cindy Pampers Herself
Today Cindy went to the King of Prussia mall, and pampered herself a bit. She got herself a neck massage and bought some make up for her. She had a little pain yesterday, but today she is good. Yesterday, she had pizza and red grapes, so I assume that was bit too much for her. Good thing is that she gets better quicker. I tell her that the longer she keeps on the diet, the healthier she will get, and the more things she can try. She should experiment in low doses and every once in a while. I see this as an allergy, and she needs to grow tolerance to acidic food slowly.
I am in Mexico, getting over a cold. A bit scary because at the same time there is flu epidemic that has killed many people. Luckily, I got the flu vaccine early this year, and had the flu as well.

Cindy Goes on Diet and Gets Well
Since last blog Cindy and I went skiing with my girls to Vail the weekend of March 7th. During the week prior to the trip she went on the correct diet, and she has not had any pain since. Tuesday, March 25th, she will have her regular check up. She was actually thinking of canceling since she hasn't had any pain.
She continues to drink her juice to boost her immune system. She is also over her cold, and has gotten much of her energy back. An important routine that has helped her is to make sure she gets a good night sleep. It is when she doesn't get a good night sleep for several days that she her health deteriorates - which really happens to everybody. She stopped taking her anti-viral medicine since we went skiing a couple of weeks ago. I can tell she has so much more energy. However, she tends to overwork, and not get a good night rest.
We decided to have 4 New Year's resolutions for her:
1. Workout 2 times a week
2. Exercise her neck - 15 minutes in the morning.
3. Drink her juice
4. Get a good night sleep
Last time she was sick was when she cheated. Since then, she has been doing so much better.

Cindy continues with a cold
The happy thing about this is that her IC is at 0. It seems that whenever she watches her diet, Cindy does great.

Cindy Cheats and She is in a lot of Pain
Pain level: 4
We got married on Saturday, and it was a very romantic wedding. We are very happy. On Monday, Cindy had:
Lunch: Salad with a vinegar and strawberry dressing. Could she have picked anything worst for her IC?
Dinner: Cheese pizza and brocolli. Just to make the lunch better...
She has been in somewhat of a remission for months, but yesterday was just too much for the bladder.
She will be a spartan for the next weeks until it cools down. Unfortunately, she needs to understand that once it is triggered it takes a while to cool down.
We still love her a lot even when she cheats.
She is taking lexapro, singulair, vitamins...and today urelle. She continues her immune booster juice in the mornings.
